Tales of the youth in Christian homes

Growing up in a Christian family does not necessarily make you a Christian just as staying in a garage does not make you a car. The problem comes up when you now begin to have a better understanding about the Christianity. Then trying to fight the battle between doctrines and the understanding you have about God, can be a big tussle. You would infact be considered a rebel to all that they (your parents) have been teaching you since you were in Sunday school classes and morning devotion.

I was having a discussion with a friend that was so sad about how her mum was sort of harassing her on days she didn’t read the daily manna and stories on how she has lost interest in the things of God.
This is one of the many scenarios that occur in a Christian family. Another of my friends said since she is not ready to be homeless – she just goes with the flow of whatever kind of Christianity that is practiced in her home.

For most of our parents, it is always a tussle trying to make them understand your point of view. Honestly, they have our best interest at heart but maybe the way and manner are just not right.
I attend a CAC church that is mostly centered on adults in like their 40’s upward. Forget about the fact that we pray for the devil to die every day and I don’t think that prayer has been answered. The fact is that it does not meet my spiritual needs as a youth and a growing Christian. I love to pray but with understanding so that I channel my effort in prayer to the right place. Hence I love to study the word as it gives me an understanding of how to pray and not just pray for every enemy sitting on my destiny and what have we.

I mean I know there are spiritual wickedness, don’t get me wrong but strengthening our spiritual man would weaken their power over one. The focus should be on our growth, not the demons.
What is my conclusion on this matter, for me, I have nowhere to go to, I have just learned to create my own happiness. Regardless of whatever I would try to make the situation work for me. At some point, you might need to stand up to them and explain that salvation is personal and you have gotten to a level that you have understanding.

If they don’t agree with you just go with the flow and on your one path create your satisfaction. I do this by listening to sermons of other churches I am comfortable with.

You should also ask the Holy Spirit for help and guidance, as sometimes there is a purpose why you are in that church.
On the brighter side, you actually have limited time to go to those churches as you might soon leave (lol) maybe to live on your own or school.
How do you deal with your own situation?
Do well to comment.
Let’s learn from each other.
