Prompt Eleven–When is it okay to lie? 05-28-25
Write me an essay–that's no longer than 82 words–explaining when it is okay to lie.
I wrote a poem about a woman in the bible. At the end, guess who she was.
My entry
The savior will rise through this nation.
Not by throne,
But by thread,
stitched through unexpected hands.
They came to inspect the land.
You open the door,
not just to them,
But to a moment bigger than you.
Then the knock, the city’s men
”Where are they?”
You pointed to the gate.
But they are hidden,
beneath your roof,
beneath your courage.
And history shifts,
Not of royalty.
Not a priest.
But you…
woman of margins,
called unclean, unseen,
are etched into the lineage of redemption.
Why?
Because you said
what needed to be said
When you were asked.
