Choose conviction over algorithm

Jun 28, 2026

Discernment is key in this journey of life. Not every activity is right for you. Not every event is right. Not every gathering. Not every conversation. Not every job.
You must learn to pick your battles.
It is no longer good vs bad; sometimes it is good vs. right fit-- the right fit for your story, your journey, and your context.
The ability to know the in between is discernment.
You must be able to say “no” with your full chest. Even when it does not seem to everyone that you are making the right decision.
In the journey of purpose, not every good opportunity is the right opportunity. Not every event requires the same energy.
For some, timing is a factor. For some, let it remain a hobby. Because someone left their job and pursued head on, does not mean you should do the same. You must always make decisions with a keen understanding of the blueprint of your life.
Learn from people’s experiences, but be careful to curate the one God has destined for you.
Do not make other people’s experiences the blueprint for your life.
The crowd does not equate to the success of a thing. Visibility does not equal success, nor does obscurity equal failure.

You must understand your own patterns. Some may need to build in public, others may need to build in private. Discernment is necessary to choose which one is yours.
If you understand this, you will become comfortable saying no to things that do not serve your purpose. Trends will no longer determine your choices.

Let me break it down further:
You shouldn’t listen to every popular podcast.
Let me say this to Christians: you do not have to be in every prayer, Bible study challenge, or group.

That it is popular does not mean it is where God will have you be, or that God answers better there.

Don’t be in the habit of jumping from one man of God to another. Stay where God will have you be. Let purpose guide your selection of who to listen to, not the algorithm. Be okay not following the majority. Let your choice be guided by great conviction, not an algorithm.
Your life is bigger than an algorithm.
It is okay to seemingly be missing out on great things. Stay where God has told you to be. Grow there.

Let the news or the algorithm not guide your choice, whether in career, devotion, relationships, etc. Let your conviction guide you.

In a world shaped by algorithms, let your life be shaped by conviction.
