HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME EFFECTIVELY

Do you ever want to take records of what you achieved during the day and you cannot readily account for anything? You know how you get so busy during the day and then you can’t even account for nothing. You feel you on this table I am shaking, right? Many of this problem stems out of not been able to manage your time properly.https://lasheycorner.com/accountability-partner-an-incredibly-easy-method-that-works-for-all/lifestyle/opinions/

Hence the need for the topic; how to manage your time effectively? I would be taking you through practical steps on effective time management to ensure productivity. Time management is typically defined as the ability to use one’s time productively and efficiently. It is very important to note that every single individual is entitled to the same amount of time each day, hence there is no way to roll over, store or borrow time. We can only decide on how to use it.  Most times we work really hard rather than working smart. Follow me as I take you through how to ensure you effectively use your time.

  1. Have a clear list of your goal: this can also be interpreted to planning. There is a common adage that says if you fail to plan you are planning to fail. The importance of planning cannot be overemphasized. The resultant effect of planning is that you have a clear vision of what you have planned out and you don’t just jump into irrational decisions.
  2. Have a to-do list: this is done by identifying your most important task to be done. Mark Twain Quote: “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” Where you put your MIT first it gives you the momentum and sense of accomplishment early in the day which then set up the rest of your day.
  3. Set deadlines for all your activities: most times we work very well when there are deadlines for our activities. Hence it is only rational if you set deadlines. Deadlines create a sense of urgency that pushes you to focus more and be more efficient.https://lasheycorner.com/men-in-women-business-exclusive-interview-with-enny-gele/entrepreneurship/
  4. Avoid procrastination: when we give ourselves deadlines we in one way deal with procrastination. “My advice is to never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time.” – Charles Dickens
  5. Learn to say no: Most of the times we end up doing things we did not plan for because we can say NO with our chest. If you really want to be productive, you must be able to say no very loud and clear to things that will not enrich our goals. Example; is going to parties when you are not financially buoyant or its no in relation to your set goals.
  6. Avoid frequent use of social media: Except it is one as it relates to your job, you should limit the hours you spend on these places. They are one of the main thieves of time in our generation. Just to chip in there is a feature on apple that would allow you limit the time you spend any app, its called SCREEN TIME. Its a great app.
  7. Start your day early: A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent in getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive.” – Walt Disney

While this list is inexhaustive, you can for the main time work around this religiously and be sure to have positive feedback.

It is imperative to note at this point that productivity is directly related to your energy level. Get to know yourself and your most productive hours. Hence what works for A may not work for B.

Conclusively know yourself and your capacity. However don’t limit yourself to a box, think outside. But regardless stay true to yourself.
